The female checked the colt's waterbucket. It was near empty, so she lifted it from its holder and headed for the water spout at the other end of the twenty stall barn. She gently turned the nosel to make the water flow fresh and clear. It was near three-quarters of the way full when she turned off the flow of water and lugged it back to the stall. "There ya go, Trenton," she said as the navy bucket resumed its position on the red rack. Ella always kept a few extra clothes in teh barn office for whenever they might be needed. She figured it would be nice to get into some dry clothes, so she left the colt and slipped into some dry clothes.
Within ten minutes she was back with a sweat scraper to rid the colt of water. She didn't want Trenton to catch a cold. Carefully and gently she began running the rubber strip over his slicked coat. ''That's a good boy," she whispered as trickles of water fell to the water absorbing wood chips beneath her feet and the horse's.
