She nodded at the "We'll talk about it later" comment. Hopefully she would forget. but Kristy knew that she wouldnt. Then she got excited again as Ella told her what she would be doing with her job. Pretty much everything but jockeying and training. She could work with that. Who was she kidding. She loved it. "thats wonderful" she said glancing at the barns and pastures.

ooc: muse *choke* is *gasp* draining *faint*
Ella nodded with a smile. "So would you like to take the loft in the filly barn? Or there is an old cottage in the middle of the brood pasture, but it's pretty dumpy," she said with a weird look on her face. Either way they would have to fix it up a little. The cottage was right around here, she thought, looking beyond the little house they were stationed in front of. The loft was closer by Ella's own house which was only about fifty feet from the courtyard in the middle of the filly and colt barns.

ooc: thats okay so is mine lol!
"Oh. It dosnt mater. I guess the loft in the Filly barn!" she said with the best possible enthusiasim. She didnt mind the loft. But her mom kept interrupting her thoughts. She pushed her out and smiled at Ella. "The loft is fine" she confirmed it. She couldn't stop smiling. She actually felt wanted. It was a great feeling. Like she did when her dad took care of her.

Ella smiled. This teen seemed really energetic to be working and living here. This is what the farm needed, more enthusiastic workers. Jarred certainly was! "So, what would you like to do next? We can head to the mall, or get a bite to eat... Whatever you feel like," she said. If Kristy had been here on her own, she might not have eaten for a while. It depends if she had brought any money along with her.

"Mmm...anything" she said. She really liked Ella and was glad that she returned today. And Jarred was nice too. She was already begining to think of both of them as her family. Forgeting about her mom totally. Although in the back of her mind the thought of calling her killed her. But that was okay. Because that wouldnt happen until later. "I'm up for anything."

She nodded with a kind smile on her face. This was new for her, taking care of a teen. She's never had a child, let alone been married, so this was new. She hoped she was doing an okay job. Wow, she thought. I'm thinking way too much about this. She looked around a little dumbfoundedly then said, "Let's grab a bite to eat. We can go out or head to the house. I'm not much of a cook, though." She laughed. Normally she got Jarred to cook for her. He was amazing.

She giggled lightly. "Again, it doesn't matter. I haven't eaten in a few hours...i managed to scrounge a pancake for breakfast with the little money i brought with me. I dont haven anything left though." She said.

She thought for a second then checked her digital watch. Almost ten in the morning. Taking this into consideration, she spoke. "We can head to my house for a late breakfast. I can make some decent pancakes," she said with a smile. Ella started walking to the house. "Coming?" she asked, looking over her shoulder.

Kristy nodded eagarly then went after her at a small "trot". She walked beside her and didn't say anything. She was wondering what her house looked like. It must be beautiful. I bet there are horses everywhere. Trophies, ribbons, pictures. she sighed in a dreamlike way and continued beside Ella

She smiled as she went into her larger sized house. "Here we are," she said as they passed through the front room. It had a few sketches of horses on its pale red walls. They passed beside the living room that had multiple plauqes and pictures and the occasional dressage trophy as well. Next they entered the kitchen and Ella went right to the pantry. "You can sit at the table or the counter," she said as she got down the pancake mix. She got out a mixing bowl and started adding ingredients. "So, how did you get down here to good old Kentucky?" she asked in a casual manner.

She smiled at everything, then sat down at the counter. Then she listened to her question. "Oh....i hitch hiked." she said shyly. She knew it was dangerous, but all the truck drivers were really nice. And they got her here okay. She waited, wondering if Ella was going to give her a lecture about it.

Ella finished the gooey batter and heated up the stove. She first was shocked that she had hitch-hiked, but then thought better of it. "I see. I did that once to get to the Belmont Stakes when I was eleven!" she said with a smile. Kristy had taken a chance, but there could have been bigger chances. "What were you planning on doing when you got here?" she asked casually. She poured onion sized drops of batter onto the pan, and they started to bubble up.

"I wasn't really sure. I guess i was going to try and make myself some money. Start my own life without my mom. Get a job at the track or a nearby stable. Then maybe get my own horse." Thats was her dream. To get her own thoroughbred racer. A filly is what she really wanted. Maybe a colt too. But that wouldnt happen for a while so she pushed that out. "Forget about my mom." she concluded.

The pancakes were finished, so Ella turned the heat down and got out two plates. She put two on each plate and handed one to Kristy. She pulled out a fork, knive, and bottle of syrup while listening to the girl's story. "Easier said that done, huh?" she said. That's the way most things went nowadays. It was so easy to say that your racehorse would be the next triple crown winner, when it ends up that they get last in the Kentucky Derby. "Do you want anything to drink?" Ella asked.

"Sure, milk is fine" Builds strong bones. She thought. She took a few pancakes and poured some syrup and began to eat some. "Yeah, i knew it wouldn't be easy. I was just lucky i ended up here." she smiled.
