The filly and woman walked up to the large round pen. Ella reached out and opened the gate and the mare slowly trotted in. Quickly the woman closed the gate and went into the middle. Before sending the filly out, she checked her watch. Robert should be here soon. She wanted him to see Bambi, the horse he would probably be riding most of the time in races. "Trot," she told the bay Thoroughbred. Obediently the filly did so. She looked around, wondering if Robert would be coming at all.

The red truck drove up the cement driveway before pulling to a halt by the front of the main barn....You were able to hear the door shut and a person get of of the truck. Now complete silence as the only thing you heard was the sound of horses....The footsteps of this person feet against the gravel ground was like the sound of rubber against cement with a clip clop rythem. Robert, walked up to the front of the barn looking inside the dimmed lighted isle. His eyes searching for his new boss he would be working for. "Anyone here?" He asked in a worried tone that this was the wrong place. He was sure it was the right place cause he remembered passing the sight...however, he was hoping someone was home.

The young woman slowed her filly to a walk after about five minutes of trotting. "Good girl," she said. Then Bambi's ears and head pricked up. She heard a truck, and soon Ella could see it. Hopefully it was Robert, her soon-to-be jockey. She smiled as she saw it was him. "Over here!" she shouted, and waved while still turning on her heel to follow the Thoroughbred's brisk walk. Hopefully he was pleased with this place, and herself, too. Something told her she had a growing crush on him, but she quickly shoved it away and out of her brain. No, not now, she thought.

Robert turned to the sound of a girl yelling "Over Here"! He turned as his eyes laid on the girls body and face. He grinned and waved as he picked up his walk and paced over to her. He glanced at her before glancing over at the horse. His eyes squinting cause of the bright sun shining down, it helped him get a better look at the girl and horse. "I'm Robert. From the ad. You called me a few hours ago. Are you Ella?" He asked hoping it was. Cause if it wasn't he hoped the girl would give him directions to where Ella was. The horse was quite good looking and so was the girl. But, first, he had to get to know her before any thing else. He needed to get to know her and her horse. He looked behind them as he glanced at the round pen they were headed for. He then took his eyes back onto the girl. This sure was what seemed like an expensive place and he was really interested. The better the place the more the money. And hopefully the more the money the more the races he rides in.

Ella halted the filly and went to her side as the man walked up. "Ya, I'm Ella. It's nice to meet you," she said and extended her hand. She looked at the curious filly who was quite interested with the sprouting conversation. "And of course, this is Bambi, our single filly here. I think you'll like her," she said with a grin.

Robert nodded and smiled at he girl who seemed pretty nice. He took her hand in his and shook her hand firmly like a real business man. He turned and took a glance at the filly before pulling what happened to be an apple slice as he reached his palm up offering the apple slice to the bay filly. She wasn't the best looking filly ever but it was at least to give it a try. He always tried. A few races, one or two, with a horse he didn't really seem interested in made up his mind on if he was going to ride that equine or not.

The filly eagerly took the apple offered to her, and contentedly crunched it down. She pawed the sand beneath her feet as the apple slid down her throat. Ella looked to Robert and returned his firm shake. She stroked the filly's neck and said to Robert, "There are two other horses you can look at today or some other time. One has real prospect. His name is Curler. Our farm jockey really isn't experienced enough to take him as far as he could go, so maybe you can ride him." She hoped he could look past their filly long-shot and see prospect in their farm. Ella also had her eye on a stallion that could really do it for Sparrow Ridge. "Do you specialize in dirt or turf? Or can you do both?" she asked, eager to know. All their horses could do both, but each had their favorite. Curler liked the turf.

Robert smiled as he watched the filly take the apple in surprise and in thanks. He giggled before listening to what she had to say. "I wouldn't mind taking a look at them now if that is okay?" He asked eager to find out what the other horses looked like. This might have been a big place but there were only a few horses. Once he found out what this Ella was like he might add a dollar or two and buy a horse for them. But that all depended on how bad they needed it. He was always a great person to pick horses out. He listened to her question about what he speaclized in. "I do both and I'm very good at both but however, I prefer to race horses on the turf for it's softer on their feet then the dirt but, like I said I can do both. I can do the dirt just as well." He smiled waiting for her reply to his answer about the question. He hoped that would be good enough for her. It was good enough for the other trainers who got him into the hall of fame area on jockies. Even though he was only 32 years he was an amazing rider.

Ella gave her filly a pat on the shoulder, then made her way out of the pen. "Sure! Ben, my second colt, is out on the track right now. But we'll go take a look at Curler," she said. She was gald to see eagerness in a jockey. That meant they were serious about a job. As she and Robert began to walk to the colt barn, she was pleasantly suprised. "Oh that's great! Curler loves the turf. He agrees with you about the softness thing," she said with a laugh. This was a nice guy to be around.
ooc: You can reply here, and then my reply will be in the colt barn.

Robert listened to her and picked up a walk as he paced along her and the filly as he followed her to the colt barn. He smiled once he heard her say the thing about Curler liking the turf. He laughed once she said that he agreed. It was funny to hear that. He had never heard something like that before. " Well, he seems like we'll get along just great!" he giggled and smiled as he glanced at her as a quick moment went by. He knew that he couldn't fall for her even though he wasn't but she sure was a pretty girl and the other male jockies would be totally jealous. She had to of been around 5 to 10 years younger then him. That would be a shocker.
